Cloud Computing
The term Cloud refers to a Network or Internet.  Cloud computing means sharing computational resources(Storage, Software, Database, ) as a service and dynamically reallocated per demand.

For example, a cloud computer facility that serves European users during European business hours with a specific application (e.g., email) may reallocate the same resources to serve North American users during North America's business hours with a different application (e.g., a web server)

Cloud-computing providers offer their "services" according to different models

Software as a service (SaaS)
In the software as a service (SaaS) model, Cloud providers manage the infrastructure and platforms that run the applications. SaaS is sometimes referred to as "on-demand software" and is usually priced on a pay-per-use basis or using a subscription fee.

Ex: Office365, Google Apps(Docs, Sheets, Photos,etc.,).

Platform as a service (PaaS)
In the PaaS models, cloud providers deliver a computing platform, typically including operating system, programming-language execution environment, database, and web server. Application developers can develop and run their software solutions on a cloud platform without the cost and complexity of buying and managing the underlying hardware and software layers.

With some PaaS offers like Microsoft Azure and
Google App Engine  Supports Python, Java, PHP, Go Programming
Engine yard Deploy, Scale, and Manage Your PHP, Ruby, & Node.js Applications

Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
Providers of IaaS offer computers (physical or  virtual machines) and other resources. To deploy their applications, cloud users install operating-system images and their application software on the cloud infrastructure.

Reduce capital costs:
The Motorola Moto E went on sale at 00:00 hours on May 14 exclusively on Flipkart. Soon after it went on sale, the Flipkart's sever could not serve requests. Server shows "Please try again in sometime." It is because of limited servers. So the existing infrastructure should be well equipped to handle the peak hour traffic. But we can’t purchase the number of servers and manage them just for 5 days because remaining days there was no use with them. So in cloud we can take service just for five days with low cost from cloud providers.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT                Dt. 28-08-2015

I wish to inform all my staff and students that I attended the orientation session on “Skill development centres in Polytechnic colleges“by APSSDCAndhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation on 27th August 2015 at Sri City Campus as per the Instructions of our Higher Officials.
The state government of Andhra Pradesh established the new department of SDEI (Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation) with the APSSDC as its Implementing (HoD) agency. APSSDC is established in order to tackle the shortage of skilled workforce in various sectors. To address this issue, APSSDC establishes skill development centres in Engineering colleges, Degree, Polytechnics and other Institutions.
In a recent SDC program, the final year degree students in CSE/IT/ECE were trained by industry grade trainers positioned in the SDC as well as through online by experts, the students developed 275 diverse projects. Having done projects on their own end-to-end, the confidence levels of students are noticeably higher and they fared much better.
A new interesting program of APSSDC for the academic year 2015-16 in engineering. Colleges is program for improved delivery of Lab oriented courses and soft skills. Through this program, in order to address the glaring gaps that prevail in most colleges in the delivery of fundamental and lab-oriented courses, experts from Industry/Universities will conduct on line sessions in interactive hands on fashion. Students also practise these along with the faculty member. Recorded sessions will be made available through the learning management systems (LMS) hosted in the college on weekly basis. I strongly hope the practical sessions in our polytechnics will also be strengthened and our students acquire the practical skills for their livelihood.
During the meeting there was a presentation on SDC, t-SDI training as per the model and methodology of COE (centres of excellence) of Siemens Company. Siemens centres of excellence are already established in Gujarat. A cluster comprises of 1 centre of excellence (COE) and 5 Technical Skill Development Institutions (t-SDI). These institutions would be established at a cost of Rs 546,84,18,908/- with Siemens and Design Tech. providing grant in aid of Rs 491,84,18,908 (90%) and Govt. share being Rs 55,00,000/- (10%). As per the AP state govt. plans six Siemens clusters will be established in the state each costing Rs 546.84 Crore. The AP Govt. has sanctioned an amount of Rs 370,78,80,000/- for establishing these six clusters from the current year’s budget allocation. The entire meeting sessions were monitored by Dr. Subba Rao Ghanta the MD &CEO of APSSDC, secretary to Govt. SDEI & EO secretary to Chief Minister. I wish our Polytechnics will get this golden opportunity to revive its glow for the benefit of the youth of our state.

Suggestions on AICTE approval process in response to the Public notice by AICTE soliciting suggestions for maintaining better Transparency/Accountability.

I submit that the council has put on place several initiatives to bring about changes in approval process by introducing greater transparency and accountability.
As per the “Approval process Hand book of 2015-16 “ there is a condition for the approval process, stating that the increase in Intake in existing courses and for adding new courses in existing program is possible, only when the Institution has valid NBA accredited courses. This has become a big hurdle to the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh during the approval process for the Academic year 2015-16.
To meet the increasing demand of Technically skilled personal and to provide cost effective education, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is running around 40 New Government Polytechnics (in rural areas), with only 2 courses in each institution. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has taken lot of Initiatives & with lot of funds in developing these institutions in a phased manner, but during 2015-16 all these institutions lost the opportunity of introducing one or two new courses in each polytechnic, since they are not having ‘Accreditation status’.
Hence, I request that the New Government Polytechnics which have not completed Ten Academic years since their inception be permitted with ease in approval to start new courses without ‘Accreditation status’ under the AICTE policy of ‘Education to all’. This step alone will be beneficial to the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh , facing many turmoil’s and which has a large demand-supply gap of Technical man power. It is true that the supply of polytechnic diploma students in the state of Andhra Pradesh is inadequate. The employable skilled labour currently supplies only 31% of the total demand.
Hence, this suggestion to permit the New Government Polytechnics of Andhra Pradesh presently running Two courses to start Two more courses in the Academic year 2016-17 without insisting on ‘Accreditation status’ for the benefit of the rural youth may be kindly considered.
 Yours sincerely,

K.V.R.Babu Principal, Government Polytechnic, Addanki, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh

20th August        Principal’s message on the occasion of National Sadhbhavana day
Dear Staff & Students,
My hearty thanks to you all for taking  Sadhbhavana pledge along with me on a common platform on this National Sadhbhavana day. It signifies National Integration, communal harmony, Non-violence and to promote goodwill among the people across the nation.
As students you should primarily have two things 1) Self awareness & 2) Self confidence. Self awareness should remind you that you are a student in serious pursuit of knowledge. Self confidence, if acquired makes you fearless and makes your student life happy. For this you should take the help of your Parents and Teachers.

The strong Bhavana is ‘Be Positive and stay Positive’.

Principal’s speech on 15th August 2015
My Dear Staff & My Dear students,
My Greetings to you all on this happy occasion of 69th Independence Day of our Great Country.
Do you Know why all of you are asked to come early in the morning to celebrate this day as a National festival, salute the flag, and to sing our beautiful National Anthem? On this day we pay our respects to all those freedom fighters who sacrificed their Health, wealth, family & life for the Independence of our country. We draw inspiration from their lives. We remember the Freedom fighters, soldiers, workers, scientists, farmers developing this country. When we salute the National flag, we are saluting Bharatmatha. When we sing the National Anthem we remember the glory of our great country.
We got Independence from the foreign rulers due to our freedom fighters. The people of India fought a series of hard and bitter battles for their lost liberty. They were fighting with British invaders from 1757 to 14th August 1947. There was civil disobedience movement – I & II. In April 1930 Gandhiji launched the salt satyagraha. With civil disobedience came the boycott of British goods & civil resistance to unjust laws. Responding to the appeal of Mahatma Gandhi, men & women joined the campaign in thousands for open confrontation with the enemy in the battle of freedom. Hundreds of people were imprisoned, shot & killed by the British govt. to create reign of terror throughout India. Bhagat singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, many people in Jalinwala Bagh incident sacrificed their lives to make our country independent. Try to understand the sacrifice of Bhagat singh and the death of Chandrasekhar Azad in Allahabad and the struggle unto death by Alluri sitarama raju. Independence means freedom from slavery, injustice and looting of our resources by the foreigners who invaded our country. The slogan and temper in the hearts of the people during freedom movement was “Freedom is our Birth Right and we want our India’s Independence”. In this way we fought and got our first Independence day on 15th August 1947.
Now students if you feel that our country has developed it is once again the contribution of many thousands of citizens of our country & if you feel that our country is still in lot of problems and people are suffering it means the citizens especially the youth force should contribute for the peace and welfare of our country. When citizens struggle for improvement, the fruits of Independence will reach the people. For this to happen we should
1.    Nor give importance to caste, creed & other differences and act as brothers & sisters of this country. We should be Smart in our understanding the situations in our country. We are talking about smart cities in our country which are essential but most essential are the smart citizens in our country. Smart citizens simply mean those who know what is good & what is bad our country and contribute their best in spite of so many temptations.
2.    We should always be inspired by the freedom fighters, the working class and do our duty.
3.    As students you should concentrate on your studies and show human kindness towards the poor, weak, old, handicapped. You should respect the women, support the junior students and understand your responsibility and perform with the highest self-confidence. Remember Swami Vivekananda words ‘The essence of education is concentration of mind and not the collection of facts’. Your future depends on today’s harvest. “I work only for the development of my country” are the golden words of Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, our hero for the present generation. I remind you that 40 Universities awarded doctorates to him.
Regarding our institution we have the hard work and support of all our Teaching & Non-Teaching staff. We all work as family members. Is it not? We want our students to be successful. Yesterday we have inaugurated our polytechnic website. It is . our RJD in his mail congratulated the Computer Engg.  Staff for this achievement. As a best practise I want them to offer free service in examination fee payment, scholarship registration and guide them in the use of internet. If you have any problem in receiving the Govt. Scholarship please approach me since I take up student scholarship work personally. Soon we are going to conduct the Anti-Ragging meeting; parent-teacher meeting and we will celebrate Teachers day, Engineers day, Freshers day, a few Games competitions and photo session with final year students. I want you to prepare well for the unit tests for III/VI sem students from Monday. Please take the help of our staff in achieving better results. I appreciate the efforts of those staff taking extra remedial classes in the morning times.
Our motto is “To do honest work for the development of our country as a smart citizen”. I thank the staff in organising this function nicely.

Thank you all and JAI HIND.

eSign: Online Electronic Signature Service

What is eSign?
eSign facilitates digitally signing a document by an Aadhaar holder using an Online Service.

The Government has introduced Electronic Signature or Electronic Authentication Technique and Procedure Rules, 2015 in which the technique known as “e-authentication technique using Aadhaar e-KYC services” has been introduced for facilitating the eSign Service.

Where the eSign Online Electronic Signature Service can be used?
An Application Service Provider (ASP) (Ex: Digital Locker) can integrate eSign online electronic signature service so that the users of that ASP will be able to use eSign. A physical paper form/document which is currently used to obtain digital signature certificate can be replaced by its electronic form and thereby facilitate electronic signature of the signer through eSign.
ASPs who can be potential users of eSign include Government agencies, Banks and Financial Institutions, Educational Institutions etc.

Examples of applications which can migrate to online paperless transactions through eSign are
S. n
